Itean Dozier, Founder/President

I grew up in a subdivision of Sicklerville, Winslow Township New Jersey.  I was a student of the Winslow Township school system (K-12) and received my high school diploma from Edgewood Regional High School (Winslow Township HS) in 2001.  I continued my education in Salisbury, North Carolina where I received my BA degree in Sociology minoring in Physical Education from Livingstone College in 2005.  I received my Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Cheyney University in 2017. Throughout college I gained a lot of experience mentoring young men working as a residential counselor, community based service worker, behavior specialist, therapeutic support specialist, and case manager.  Upon graduation from college, I returned back to New Jersey and received my teaching certificate in Health and Physical Education (K-12).

I continued to serve as a youth advocate for many group homes and community based programs on a part time basis as I pursued my teaching career.  I directed the educational and vocational programs for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Atlantic City for over two years before accepting a position with Atlantic City Board of Education as a Health and Physical Education teacher.  I am currently in my 10th year with the Board of Education and continue advocacy to the youth as a mentor, coach, and home instruction teacher.

My passion for pioneering the youth has grown greater over the years, I plan to give back to the same community I grew up in and provide greater opportunities and environments for the children to become successful. My motto is, “I just want to help them (children) see over the brick wall and maybe they will jump over!”
